Volunteer Bridge serves as a resource for students providing information about volunteer opportunities in the greater Grand Forks community. Volunteer Bridge maintains a relationship with agencies in the community who need volunteers on an ongoing basis. Volunteers may commit for a single event, a semester, or for an entire year. Agencies are categorized into these seven interest areas:

• Arts, Animal, and Environment
• Civic
• Elderly
• Health Human Services
• People with Disabilities
• Youth

Volunteering is an excellent way for students to gain experiences outside the classroom. These benefits include:

• Building relationships with diverse populations
• Using critical thinking and problem solving skills in real world situations.
• Exploring careers and developing references.
• Networking by developing friendships with other students and community leaders.
• Learning about national and community issues first hand.
• Increasing leadership and team work abilities.
