Volunteer Bridge serves as a resource for students
providing information about volunteer opportunities in the
greater Grand Forks community. Volunteer Bridge maintains
a relationship with agencies in the community who need volunteers
on an ongoing basis. Volunteers may commit for a single
event, a semester, or for an entire year. Agencies are categorized
into these seven interest areas:
- Arts, Animal, and Environment
- Civic
- Elderly
- Health Human Services
- People with Disabilities
- Youth
Volunteering is an excellent way for students to gain experiences
outside the classroom. These benefits include:
- Building relationships with diverse populations
- Using critical thinking and problem solving skills in
real world situations.
- Exploring careers and developing references.
- Networking by developing friendships with other students
and community leaders.
- Learning about national and community issues first hand.
- Increasing leadership and team work abilities.
- Increasing academic self confidence.
- Improving communication and interpersonal skills.
If you have questions on how to get involved, please call 777-4200 or email volunteer@und.edu.
