The University of North Dakota’s Greek Life has just recently reached its 100th year in existence. The Greek community has been a home away from home to thousands of students who have graduated to excel in a broad range of fields including, business, nursing, education, aviation, medicine, politics, law, sports, and entertainment. With so many students involved in the Greek community moving on to exciting careers, it is vital that chapters work closely with advisors and alumni to ensure the success of future Greek community members.
The Greek community has several areas it will be working on improving as far as alumni relations for the upcoming year. The chapters who have the strongest advisory/alumni support have consistently excelled on campus. We want to strengthen the ties between chapters and local alumni by holding informational meetings each semester, updating advisors (and any alumni that wish to attend) on the current status of the Greek community. Also, the Office of Greek Life will be doing research to find UND Greek and non-Greek alumni who would be willing to be an advisor or volunteer their time and knowledge to help better guide our chapters.
If you are interested in being an advisor or volunteering in the guidance of a particular chapter, please contact the Assistant Director of Leadership and Assessment, Dr. Cassie Gerhardt, cassie.gerhardt@und.nodak.edu, (701) 777-3667.
